Zathar Manakish is another fantastic recipe that you can trust. It is a type of flat bread that is made with a fermentated dough recipe and topped with a spread of Zathar, chicken, olives and mozerella cheese. Zathar Manakish is very popular Delicious dish among Labaniese Cuisine. But nowadays it's also very popular in all Arabian countries.This is another version of Pizza. I already shared my CHEESY CHICKEN PIZZA recepi earlier.


ZATHAR MANAKISH WITH CHEESY CHICKEN TOPPINGS


This recipe is very simple and tasty. You can made this at your home. You can serve it either as a breakfast or a party appetizer. Manakish are generally much thinner than pizza. While making Manakish Zathar is essential. You can also used Zathar in other pita breads, seasoning salads and spreading in sandwiches.

Traditionally Zathar Manakish is cooked in oven. But if there is no oven at your home, you can make this in a gas burner by using flat tawa/ pan. Both oven and gas made Manakish  gives same tastes but the external outlook of Manakish baked in oven shows difference in melting cheese and it's crispiness. This Delicious Zathar Manakish is a perfect accompaniment with some other food. You can served it with tomato sauce, Mayonnaise and any cream cheese. It is one of the simple and easy recepi that  you can made it quickly for your lazy weekend.

Having Arabic dishes in a weekend is a habit of almost all people. I make this tasty Zathar Manakish last week. It's very tasty and cheesy. The flavour of Zathar gives extraordinarily taste and aroma. Having a piece of Zathar Manakish along with some tomato sauce and Mayonnaise makes a wonderful meals to remember.

INGREDIENTS

For making dough 

All purpose flour (maida) - 2 cup

Zathar - 1 tsp

Warm water - 1/2 cup

Normal water - 3 tbsp

Olive oil - 1 tbsp

Yeast - 1 1/2 tsp

Sugar - 1 tsp 

Salt - 1/2 tsp


For marinating Chicken

Boneless chicken - 400 g

Arabic masala - 1 tbsp

Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

Pepper powder - 1 tsp

Soya sauce - 1 tbsp

Red chilly powder - 1 tbsp

Salt

Olive oil - 5 tbsp


For toppings

Mozerella cheese 

Zathar

Fried chicken cubes

Sliced black olives

Olive oil - 1 tbsp


INSTRUCTIONS

🔺 Chicken should be cut into small cubes.

🔺  Whenever you are making Arabic dishes, it's better to use olive oil and Arabic spices ( Arabic masala powder)

🔺No need to fry the chicken pieces crisply. You want to bake this fried chicken again. So it will burnt and hard to eat when you overcook it.

🔺 If you are using instant yeast, you can keep the dough  only 3 - 4 hours for fermentation. If you are using dried yeast, you must keep 5 - 6 hours for fermentation.

🔺 If you are using correct measurement, you get a soft dough. Otherwise your dough didn't fermentated and it will be very hard after baking.

🔺 It's better to use more Mozerella cheese for getting extra bubbly and extra crispy texture.


PREPARATION

* Take a mixing bowl, add yeast, sugar, salt and 3 tbsp of water. Mix well and close the bowl. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.

* After 10 minutes, open the bowl and add all purpose flour, Zathar and olive oil. Mix these ingredients well and make a soft dough by adding enough water. Close this dough with a tight lid. Keep this for fermentation.

* Take 400 g boneless chicken. Cut them into small cubes. Wash and drain well. Then marinate the chicken cubes by adding spices such as Turmeric powder, Pepper powder, Arabic masala, red chilly powder, soya sauce and enough salt.

* Take a frying pan, heat enough olive oil, add marinated chicken cubes. Fry the chicken cubes until it turns light golden brown colour.

For toppings

* Take a big baking tray, apply/ brush enough olive oil, then transfer the  fermentated dough into this tray. Make a thin sheet by pressing roundly with your palms. Make holes in all parts of the dough by using fork.

* Spread mozerella cheese.

* Sprinkle Zathar powder all parts of the dough.

* Add fried chicken cubes.

* Add sliced black olives 

* Spread Mozerella cheese. 

Preheat the oven for 10 minutes. Bake this dough in 200 degree C for 25 minutes.

You can served this hotly with some tomato sauce, chilly sauce, Mayonnaise and salads. Also you can also serve this delicious dish along with evening tea/ coffee and any cool drinks.
