SOFT GARLIC BUTTER NAN

 GARLIC BUTTER NAN:

THE MOST POPULAR FLAT BREAD PREPARED IN TAWA BY USING ALL PURPOSE FLOUR, EGG, MILK AND YEAST. IT IS USUALLY SERVED FOR DINNER WITH  GRAVIES , MAYONNAISE AND FRIES. THIS BREAD IS VERY SOFT AND TASTY. IT IS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER BREADS, FROM ITS TASTE AND FLAVOUR. THE FLAVOUR OF BUTTER,GARLIC AND CORIANDER LEAVES MAKES IT A DELICIOUS ONE. THIS IS ONE OF THE PARTY SPECIAL DISH AND IT IS VERY POPULAR IN THE TOP MENU LIST OF EVERY RESTAURANT.

I GOT THIS RECIPE FROM MY FRIEND. I LIKE ITS TASTE. SO I TRIED THIS RECIPE BY MAKING SOME CHANGES. MY FRIEND DIDN'T ADDED GARLIC AND  CORIANDER LEAVES. SHE MAKE IT AS A PLAIN BREAD BY APPLYING BUTTER. HERE I USED CHOPPED GARLIC AND CORIANDER LEAVES IN A DOUGH. HERE I MAKE THE DOUGH BY USING ALL PURPOSE FLOUR, EGG, YOGURT, MILK, YEAST, SUGAR, WATER AND SALT. THEN IT IS KEEP FOR 5-6 HOURS FOR FERMENTATION. IT IS THEN ROLLED TO A OVAL SHAPE SHEET BY ADDING CHOPPED GARLIC AND CORIANDER LEAVES. MY FRIEND USED PRESSURE COOKER FOR FRYING THIS BREAD. INSTEAD OF PRESSURE COOKER, I USED FLAT TAWA.

LET'S FOLLOW THE STEPS TO MAKE  THIS FLAT BREAD WHICH CALLED AS "NAN " .

SOFT GARLIC BUTTER NAN

INGREDIENTS

ALL PURPOSE FLOUR - 2 CUP

EGG - 1

YEAST - 3/4 tsp

SUGAR -1 tsp

YOGURT - 2 tbsp

MILK - 1/4 CUP

WARM WATER - 2 tbsp

SALT - 1/2 tsp

FINELY CHOPPED GARLIC - 2 tbsp 

BUTTER  1/2 CUP

PREPARATION

TAKE A BOWL, ADD 3/4 tsp OF YEAST ,1 tsp OF SUGAR, 2 tbsp OF WARM WATER AND 1/2 tsp OF SALT .

MIX WELL AND CLOSE THE BOWL FOR 10 MINUTES.

AFTER 10 MINUTES, ADD 2 CUP OFF ALL PURPOSE FLOUR AND 1 EGG .

THEN MIX WELL WITH YOUR HAND.

THEN ADD 2 tbsp OF YOGURT AND 1/4 CUP WATER INTO THIS BOWL.

AGAIN MIX WELL WITH YOUR HAND FOR 10 MINUTES TO GET A SOFT DOUGH TEXTURE.

TRANSFER THE DOUGH IN AN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER.

KEEP THIS DOUGH FOR FERMENTATION .

YOU SHOULD KEEP AT LEAST 5 TO 6 HOURS FOR FERMENTATION .

AFTER FERMENTATION , TAKE THE DOUGH AND CUT INTO 8 EQUAL PARTS .

TAKE A SMALL BOWL AND ADD 1/2 CUP BUTTER AND KEEP ASIDE.

TAKE A SMALL BOWL AND ADD 2 tbsp OF FINELY CHOPPED GARLIC AND KEEP ASIDE.

TAKE ANOTHER BOWL AND ADD FINEFY CHOPPED CORIANDER , KEEP ASIDE.

THEN  TAKE 1 PIECE OF DOUGH AND MAKE AN OVAL SHAPE  BY  USING A CHAPATI ROLLER .

AFTER THAT APPLY A PINCH OF CHOPPED GARLIC AND CHOPPED CORIANDER LEAVES.

THEN PRESS IT SOFTY WITH CHAPATI ROLLER .

MAKE ALL PIECE OF DOUGH BY USING THESE METHODS.

HEAT A FRYING  PAN 

BRUSH LITTLE WATER UNDER THE ROLLED OR SHAPED DOUGH.

THEN PUT IT INTO THE FRYING PAN.

COOK THIS IN A MEDIUM FLAME ...

WHEN BUBBLES CAME FROM THESE COOKING DOUGH YOU CAN TURN THE FRYING PAN AND SHOW DIRECT IN TO FIRE.

THE ROLLED DOUGH IS STICK IN FRYING PAN BECAUSE OF WE BRUSHED LITTLE WATER .SO YOU SHOULD NOT WORRY .IT DID NOT FELL DOWN.

THEN THAT SIDE BEGAN TO CHANGE LIGHT GOLDEN COLOUR , THEN YOU CAN TURN THE FRYING PAN AND COOK OTHER SIDE ONLY FOR 1 MINUTES.

THEN THE STICK PART IS SEPARATED. THEN YOU CAN SEPARATE IT EASILY .

THEN BRUSH 1 tsp OF BUTTER TO ITS TOP OF NAN. YOU SHOULD APPLY BUTTER AT THE TIME WHEN WE REMOVE FROM PAN. OTHERWISE YOU LOST ITS SHINING AND TASTE.

COOK ALL THE ROLLED DOUGH BY USING THESE METHOD.

THE SOFT AND TASTY GARLIC BUTTER NAN  IS READY.
