POTATO CURRY IS A GRAVY TYPE CURRY THAT ARE COMMON IN ALL PLACES. BUT THE INGREDIENTS USED TO MAKE POTATO CURRY MAY BE DIFFERENT. THIS RECIPE IS VERY SIMPLE AND CAN MAKE INSTANTLY. HERE THE POTATO IS COOKED WITH ONION, TOMATO,GREEN CHILLY AND OTHER SPICES. 

THIS RECIPE IS EASY AND SIMPLE. IT IS ALSO HELPUL FOR BEGINNERS WHO DON'T KNOW TO MAKE VARIETIES. THIS IS AN INSTANT CURRY THAT ONE CAN MAKE QUICKLY AND FASTLY IN A BUSY TIME. YOU CAN MAKE THIS IN A PRESSURE COOKER TO SAVE TIME. ONLY 4 WHISTLES IS NEEDED TO MAKE THIS GRAVY. THIS IS A ONE - POT  RECIPE BECAUSE ALL THE INGREDIENTS ARE ADDED TOGETHER IN PRESSURE COOKER. THE SEASONING OF THE CURRY IS DONE BEFORE THE INGREDIENTS ARE ADDED. HERE THE FIRST STEP TO MAKE THIS CURRY IS SEASONING. FIRSTLY THE CURRY IS SEASONED WITH MUSTARD SEEDS, DRIED RED CHILLY, CURRY LEAVES, WHITE URAD DAL etc. AFTER THAT ALL INGREDIENTS SUCH AS CHOPPED POTATO,ONION,TOMATO,GREEN CHILLY, SPICES AND ENOUGH WATER WERE ADDED TOGETHER AND MAKE TASTY AND SPICY POTATO CURRY.

INSTANT POTATO CURRY IN PRESSURE COOKER

INGREDIENTS

POTATO 🥔 - 4 MEDIUM 

GREEN CHILLY - 3

ONION - 1 MEDIUM 

TOMATO -1 MEDIUM

WATER 

SALT  

CORIANDER LEAVES

CUMIN SEED - 1/2 tsp

TURMERIC POWDER - 1/2 tsp

BLACK PEPPER POWDER - 1/2 tsp

BIRYANI MASALA POWDER - 1/4 tsp 

FOR SEASONING

MUSTARD SEED - 1/2 tsp

WHITE URAD DAL SPLIT  - 1/2 tsp

DRIED RED CHILLY - 3

CURRY LEAVES 

COCONUT OIL - 3 Tbsp

PREPARATION

PEEL THE POTATO 

CUT THE POTATO INTO SMALL PIECES.

WASH AND DRAIN.

TAKE A PRESSURE COOKER 

HEAT COCONUT OIL

SPLUTTER 1/2 tsp OF MUSTARD SEEDS

SPLUTTER 1/2 tsp OF URAD DAL SPLIT .

THEN ADD DRIED CHILLY

THEN ADD CURRY LEAVES

SAUTE FOR 2 MINUTES.

AFTER THAT ADD 1 CHOPPED ONION, 1 CHOPPED TOMATO , CHOPPED POTATO AND 3 GREEN CHILLIES.

ADD 1/2 tsp TURMERIC POWDER, 1/2 CUMIN SEED , 1/2 tsp BLACK PEPPER POWDER AND 1/4 tsp OF BIRYANI MASALA POWDER.

ADD SALT AS NEEDED .

MIX THESE INGREDIENTS WELL .

ADD WATER  AS NEEDED. WATER LEVEL IS JUST 1 INCH ABOVE THAN POTATO INGREDIENTS IN PRESSURE COOKER.

IF U WANT THICK GRAVY YOU CAN REDUCE WATER.

CLOSE THE PRESSURE COOKER AND WAIT UNTIL 4 WHISTLE .

SWITCH OFF THE BURNER AND KEEP ASIDE FOR 5 MINUTE.

OPEN THE PRESSURE COOKER AND BOIL THE CURRY FOR 5 MINUTES.

MASH THE POTATO IN THE CURRY WHILE BOILING BY USING SPOON.

IF THERE IS NO WATER WHEN WE OPEN THE PRESSURE COOKER, FIRST YOU MASH THE HALF PART OF POTATO AND THEN ADD LITTLE WATER. THEN BEGAN TO BOIL.

AFTER BOILING 5 MINUTES , ADD CHOPPED CORIANDER LEAVES .

SWITCH OFF THE BURNER AND THEN YOU CAN SERVE.

THE INSTANT TASTY AND HEALTHY POTATO CURRY READY.

YOU CAN SERVE THIS CURRY WITH CHAPATI , POORI  AND DOSA.
