AN AUTHENTIC AND TRADITIONAL KERALA BREAKFAST RECIPE MADE WITH RICE BATTER. IT IS GENERALLY SERVED WITH VEGETABLE AND CHICKEN KURUMA OR STEW.
THIS VARIETY DOSA IS MADE BY FERMENTATION OF RICE , COCONUT AND YEAST. THIS DOSA IS VERY SOFT. IT IS VERY POPULAR AND CAN BE USED TO SERVE IN PARTIES .
*White Rice -1 cup
*Crushed coconut - 1/2cup
*Cooked Rice -1/2 cup
*Sugar -1tbsp
*Yeast -1/2tsp
*Salt
*Water
PREPARATION
Soak the white rice for 3hours
Take a grinder add white rice,crushed coconut ,cooked rice ,sugar,yeast.
Add water into the above ingredients. Level of water is just higher than that ingredients .
Grind well like a dosa batter. Keep it in a steel bowl and stir well.
Keep 6 or 7hours or overnight for
fermentation.
Put salt and stir well.
Heat a VELLAYAPPAM pan and start to cook.
Apply one scoop of batter to make one VELLAYAYAPPAM . Cook all the VELLAYAPPAM by following above method.
Close the VELLAYAPPAM PAN by using lid while cooking .
TASTY AND EASY VELLAYAPPAM READY.
