ARABIC SWEETS.
Kunafa / kanafeh is traditional Arabic desserts that is made with thin vermicelli like dough called as kunafa dough. It is one of the most royal and supreme dessert with a mix of mozzerella cheese which gives cheesy, crisp and crunchy taste. It is sweet and layered with cheese and chopped pistachios, baked until light golden colour,served with an aromatic syrup and enjoy your best flavour. Crunchiness comes from broken dough combined with melted butter which makes it a Delicious sweets forever.
Kunafa / kanafeh is a popular Arabic Ramadan dessert. Cheesy and sweety desserts are the stars of Arabic dinings. It is popular in all countries. Now it reached most part of the world. But each country has its own unique preparation style. However, Arabians filled it with cheese/ cream cheese, garnished with pistachios and surved with sugar syrup. This recipe is very simple and tasty.
My first Kunafa / kanafeh sweets experience was in UAE. I absolutely loved the sweet, creamy and soft Kunafa / kanafeh. In that bakery I find different types of kunafa / kanafeh with variety shapes and tastes.
Kunafa / kanafeh sweets is also called as Queen of Arabi dessert. It's because, kunafa / kanafeh is one of the traditional and popular Arabic dessert/ sweet by comparing with other Arabic desserts. Also it stands at top level in every bakeries, malls, parties etc.
Here, I am sharing the recipe of Arabic kunafa. I used kunafa frozen dough for making kunafa/kanafeh. Mozerella cheese are used for fillings and pistachios are used for garnishing. Finally it was served with sugar syrup for making rich sweety delicious desserts. If you taste it once, you can't forget it's taste. No other ingredients are used. I used only few ingredients for making Kunafa. Kunafa / kanafeh dough are now available in almost every supermarket. It's frozen. You can buy and make this delicious Arabic sweets easily and treats your family sweety and tasty.

INGREDIENTS
Kunafa / kanafeh dough - 500 g
Mozerella cheese
Melted butter - 200 g
Crushed pistachios
Cream cheese - 100 grm
For sugar syrup
Sugar - 1 cup
Water - 3/4 cup
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Rose water - 1 tbsp
INSTRUCTIONS
🔺 The shredded kunafa dough comes in long strands and it always in Frozen type. So you must take out from freezer and keep in room temperature for atleast 1 hour before you are going to make it.
🔺 It is better to break the Kunafa/kanafeh dough in a mixer grinder. Don't grind it to fine powder. You can just crush the dough in a mixer grinder. Otherwise you lost it's texture.
🔺 You must use your hands while mixing kunafa dough with melted butter.
🔺 You can use mozerella cheese and butter according to your taste. Here I used more mozerella cheese to get cheesy and juicy texture.
🔺 Don't forget to apply butter on your baking tray before you transfer the dough into it.
🔺 Don't make the sugar syrup thick and sticky, you can just melt it.
🔺 Pour sugar syrup hotly in an hot kunafa.
🔺 Don't flip the kunafa / kanafeh hotely. Flip it after it warmed.
PREPARATION
👉 Take 500 g of kunafa dough, transfer it to a mixer grinder. Then crush it. Transfer them into a bowl.
👉 Take a pan, melt 200 g butter. Once it melts, you can transfer it to the Kunafa dough and mix well by using your hands.
👉 Take a baking tray, apply some butter, then transfer the half portion of kunafa dough into the tray. Then press well with your palms. Then add cream cheese, then add mozerella cheese.
👉 After that you can transfer the remaining dough on the top of mozerella cheese. Then again press well with your palms.
👉 Preheat the oven for 10 minutes. After that, you can bake this dough in 200 degree C for 35 minutes.
👉 Take a pan, add 1 cup of sugar, add 3/4 cup water. Mix well and cook it in a high flame. Once the sugar melts, you can add lemon juice and rose water. Boil the syrup for 3 minutes. Then switch off the flame and keep aside.
👉 Once the Kunafa / kanafeh is ready, you can take out from the oven. Then pour the 3/4 portion sugar syrup on the top of the kunafa dough. Then keep aside for warm.
👉 Once it warmed, you can flip it. Then spread some crushed pistachio and remains sugar syrup on the top of that side.
Sweet and juicy Arabian style kunafa/ kanafeh is ready. You can served this as a dessert in a party, festivals or other occasions. It's sure that your kids will be one of the fan of kunafa once they taste it.
