HUMMUS IS A CREAMY DIP MADE FROM COOKED OR MASHED WHITE CHICKPEAS AND BLENDED WITH SOME VARIETY INGREDIENTS.ITS A POPULAR DISH OF ARABIC COUNTRIES.
HERE THE CHICKPEAS IS BLENDED WITH GARLIC, LEMON JUICE,TAHINI PASTE & SALT. THIS MIXTURE GIVES A GOOD FLAVOUR AND DELICIOUS TASTE TO EAT.
INGREDIENTS
WHITE CHICKPEAS - 250g GRM
TAHINI PASTE - 3 Tbsp
GARLIC - 3 CLOVES
LEMON JUICE - 1 Tbsp
OLIVE OIL - 3 Tbsp
WATER - 3 Tbsp
CUMIN SEED - 1/4 Tsp
SALT
FOR BOILING CHICKPEAS
WATER
SALT
PREPARATION
SOAK THE CHICKPEAS OVERNIGHT OR 8 HOURS.
AFTER 8 HOURS WASH THE CHICKPEAS AND PUT IN TO THE PRESSURE COOKER BY ADDING ENOUGH WATER AND PINCH OF SALT. THE LEVEL OF WATER IS 2 INCH ABOVE THAN CHICKPEAS .
WAIT FOR 5 WHISTLE.
OPEN THE LID OF PRESSURE COOKER ONLY AFTER ITS PRESSURE COMPLETLY GONE.
DRAIN THE WATER FROM CHICKPEAS. NO NEED TO TAKE COOKED WATER.
TAKE A MIXER GRINDER ADD THIS COOKED CHICKPEAS, THEN ADD 3 Tbsp OF WATER, 3 GARLIC CLOVES, 1 Tbsp OF LEMON JUICE, 1/4 Tsp CUMIN SEED AND 3 Tbsp OF TAHINI PASTE .
MIX WELL .
THEN ADD 3 Tbsp OF OLIVE OIL AND ENOUGH SALT.
GRIND THESE INGREDIENTS FINELY UNTIL YOU GET THICK CREAMY TEXTURE.
TAKE A SERVING BOWL AND THEN TRANSFER THE GRINDED CREAMY DIP FROM THE BLENDER .
BY USING FORK YOU CAN MAKE LINES AND SHAPES WITH PAPRIKA POWDER OR CHILLY POWDER. IN THAT LINES YOU CAN APPLY 2 OR 3 Tbsp OF OLIVE OIL.
KEEP IN REFRIGERATOR FOR COOL AND SET FOR 1 HOUR.
YOU CAN EAT INSTANTLY ALSO.
BUT TO GET REAL TASTE, KEEP IN REFRIGERATOR FOR ATLEASTE 1 HOUR
YOU CAN GARNISH IT' WITH CHICKPEAS , PAPRIKA POWDER .
YOU CAN ALSO USE READYMADE CANNED CHICKPEAS TO MAKE THIS DIP.
