 HUMMUS --- ---AN ARABIAN                       TASTE :

HUMMUS IS A CREAMY DIP MADE FROM COOKED OR MASHED WHITE CHICKPEAS AND BLENDED WITH SOME VARIETY INGREDIENTS.ITS A  POPULAR DISH OF ARABIC COUNTRIES.

HERE THE CHICKPEAS IS BLENDED WITH GARLIC, LEMON JUICE,TAHINI PASTE & SALT. THIS MIXTURE GIVES A GOOD FLAVOUR AND DELICIOUS TASTE TO EAT.

HUMMUS - AN ARABIAN TASTE

Here I used 400 grm soaked chick peas. Chickpeas are cooked in a pressure cooker for 5 whistle. I didn't take chickpeas stock ( cooked water).In a mixer grinder I add cooked chickpeas,garlic cloves,lemon juice,salt and tahini paste. These ingredients are grind well until it turns to a thick creamy paste .Then I served this with Cubboos and fried chicken. It is very tasty and creamy. This is my father's recepi, he got it from his friend. We all like this dip. Now this recepi is popular in many places. This is one of the party special dip to make the guest very happy and attractive.

Let's follow this recipe to make tasty and creamy dip --- Hummus 


INGREDIENTS

WHITE CHICKPEAS - 250g GRM

TAHINI PASTE - 3 Tbsp

GARLIC - 3 CLOVES

LEMON JUICE - 1 Tbsp 

OLIVE OIL - 3 Tbsp

WATER - 3 Tbsp

CUMIN SEED - 1/4 Tsp

SALT

FOR  BOILING CHICKPEAS

WATER  

SALT 

PREPARATION

SOAK THE CHICKPEAS OVERNIGHT OR  8 HOURS.

AFTER 8 HOURS WASH THE CHICKPEAS AND PUT IN TO THE PRESSURE COOKER BY ADDING ENOUGH WATER AND PINCH OF  SALT. THE LEVEL OF WATER IS 2 INCH ABOVE THAN CHICKPEAS .

WAIT FOR 5 WHISTLE.

OPEN THE LID OF PRESSURE COOKER ONLY AFTER  ITS PRESSURE  COMPLETLY GONE.

DRAIN THE WATER FROM CHICKPEAS. NO NEED TO TAKE COOKED WATER.

TAKE A MIXER GRINDER ADD THIS COOKED CHICKPEAS, THEN ADD 3 Tbsp OF WATER, 3 GARLIC CLOVES, 1 Tbsp OF LEMON JUICE, 1/4 Tsp CUMIN SEED AND 3 Tbsp OF TAHINI PASTE .

MIX WELL .

THEN ADD 3 Tbsp OF OLIVE OIL AND ENOUGH SALT.

GRIND THESE  INGREDIENTS FINELY  UNTIL YOU GET THICK CREAMY TEXTURE.

TAKE A SERVING BOWL AND THEN TRANSFER THE  GRINDED CREAMY DIP FROM THE BLENDER  .

BY USING FORK YOU CAN MAKE LINES AND SHAPES WITH PAPRIKA POWDER OR CHILLY POWDER. IN THAT LINES YOU CAN APPLY  2 OR 3  Tbsp OF OLIVE OIL.

KEEP IN REFRIGERATOR FOR COOL AND SET FOR 1 HOUR.

YOU CAN EAT INSTANTLY ALSO.

BUT TO GET REAL TASTE, KEEP IN REFRIGERATOR FOR ATLEASTE 1 HOUR 

YOU CAN GARNISH IT' WITH CHICKPEAS , PAPRIKA POWDER .

YOU CAN ALSO USE READYMADE CANNED CHICKPEAS TO MAKE THIS DIP.

THE EASY AND TASTY ARABIAN DIP READY.

YOU CAN SERVE THIS WITH CUBBOOS AND ROTI .
