As we know that nowadays we the people always looking for an excellent traditional recepi. Also they were trying to make collection of traditional recepies from our elders. After that we the People tried our best to make traditional recepies exactly what our elder says.
Here is a simple delicious recipe of chicken curry. This recipe is purely traditional. The ingredients and utensils used here is also really a traditional one. We already know that traditional recepies always makes in a clay pot. So it gives extraordinarily flavour and taste of the clay pot.
We already known that in traditional recepies we can find normal ingredients. No other extra powders are not added to get extra tastes. It's a traditional way. There are many other traditional ways for cooking chicken pot curry. This recepi I have firstly tasted in my friends house. Her mama cooks variety of traditional dishes. So I asked her mamas chicken pot Curry's recepi and I tried it on last week. My hubby and daughter likes very much. Once you taste it you will cook again and again.
So let's follow my simple recipe of traditional chicken pot curry.

INGREDIENTS:
Chicken : 1 kg
Onion : 2 sliced medium
Tomato : 1 big sliced
Ginger : 1 inch long
Garlic : 4 cloves
Green chillies - 8 - 10
Lemon juice - 1/2 of 1
Mint leaves - 1 handful
Coriander leaves - 1 handful
Curry leaves
Salt
Coconut oil - 5 tbsp
Water - 2 cup
For seasonings:
Shallots - 5 - 6
Curry leaves
Cow ghee - 1 tbsp
PREPARATIONS:
* Clean and wash chicken pieces thoroughly by using salt and lemon juice. Drain them using colander to avoid excess amount of water.
* Take a clay pot, heat coconut oil.
* Add finely chopped/sliced onions and salt. Saute well until the onion turns light golden colour.
* Add crushed ginger garlic & green chillies. Mix well and saute for 2 minutes.
* Add sliced tomato & lemon juice. Mix well and close the pot with lid. Cook for 5 minutes.
* Once the water from tomato comes out, add spice powder such as Turmeric powder, pepper powder, biryani masala powder,red chilli powder, coriander powder, Kashmiri chilly powder etc. Mix well and cook it for 2 minutes in a low flame.
* Add chicken pieces. Mix well. Close the pot. Cook it for 5 minutes in a medium flame.
* Once the water from chicken comes out, mix well and add 1-2 cup of water and close the pot. Cook it for 15 minutes in a medium flame. Mix well every 5 minutes.
* Once the chicken pieces cooked, remove the lid and allow them to boil for a minute in a high flame.
*Add chopped coriander and mint leaves. Mix well.
* Finally take a saucepan, heat enough cow ghee, add sliced shallots & curry leaves. Saute well until it turns light golden colour.
* Transfer the seasoned shallots & curry leaves into the boiling pot. Mix well & close the pot. Switch off the flame and wait for 5 - 10 minutes.
* Tasty and delicious traditional style chicken pot curry is ready to serve. You can serve by garnishing it with some coriander and mint leaves.
You can serve it with any dishes such as ghee rice, dosa ,pathiri, parotta etc
INSTRUCTIONS:
∆ Clean and wash chicken pieces thoroughly by using salt and lemon juice.
∆ You can add water according to your preferences.
∆ You can add water only after the water from chicken pieces comes out.
∆ You can add spices only after water from tomatoes comes out.
∆ If you want to reduce spicy level, then you can reduce the number of green chillies.
